Car Show 30457 - "The Jet Age"

Car styling during the late 40's and even more in the early to mid 50's took a lot of cues from jet aircraft. Grills, tail fins, and hood ornaments all subtly or overtly reflected this new form of propulsion, implying speed and "modernity". There is no mistaking the inspiration for this Pontiac hood ornament.
